The Minnesota Wild missed the playoffs in 2010 for the second consecutive season.

So, general manager Chuck Fletcher overhauled the roster and coaching staff.

He allowed several free agents to leave and traded away a pair of the team’s better players.

While letting players leave, he acquired and signed several players with the intent on improving the goal scoring.

In addition to acquiring goal scoring, he wanted to get younger and faster.

The Wild are still predicted to miss the playoffs. But if the new players can build instant chemistry with the returning players and the injured players return to their form quickly, the experts will be wrong.
