The Minnesota Wild have 14 restricted free agents.

Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher and head coach Mike Yeo have a decision to make on all the free agents.

The Wild currently have 31 players under contract for next season; each team is allowed a maximum of 50.

With the 19 remaining contracts, at least one will be used on drafted players that have expiring rights this summer. Also, there is cap space to try and lure a big name free agent or two to Minnesota.

Here is restricted free agent center David McIntyre.

Number – 34; Height – 6-0; Weight – 190; Hometown – Oakville, Ontario; 2011-12 Salary – $610,000. Qualifying Offer – $577,500.

Statistics – 7 games played, one goal, one assist, minus-one rating and two penalty minutes (Minnesota Wild); 63 games played, 16 goals, 17 assists, minus-four rating and 73 penalty minutes (Houston Aeros).

Strengths: He has scoring ability. He has speed and a physical nature to his game. He can spark a team with his fore check.

Weaknesses: He is not an elite offensive player. He is not going score a ton of goals or record a lot of assists. He needs to improve his consistency and strength to be a very good fourth line player.

Outlook: He has a chance to be a high-end fourth line player. The Wild acquired him in a trade last summer and he did nothing to disappoint. He should receive the qualifying offer, but could get a longer term deal. If re-signed, he should compete with several other players for a roster with the Wild next season.
