The Minnesota Wild have 11 unrestricted free agents.

Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher and head coach Mike Yeo have a decision to make on all the free agents.

The Wild currently have 31 players under contract for next season; each team is allowed a maximum of 50.

With the 19 remaining contracts, at least one will be used on drafted players that have expiring rights this summer. Also, there is cap space to try and lure a big name free agent or two to Minnesota.

Here is unrestricted free agent defenseman Clayton Stoner.

Number – 4; Height – 6-3; Weight – 225; Hometown – Port McNeill, British Columbia; 2011-12 Salary – $550,000.

Statistics: 51 games played, one goal, four assists, plus-three rating and 62 penalty minutes (Minnesota Wild).

Strength: He is a big, steady defensive defenseman. He plays a sound positional game. He gets his body in the way and blocks a lot of shots.

Weakness: He is not an offensively gifted player. With his size, he should have more of a mean streak. He has durable issues with multiple injuries over the last three seasons that have kept him from playing more than 57 games in a season.

Outlook: The Wild have already re-signed the 27-year-old for two more years through the 2013-14 season. The contract is worth $2,100,00 and has a cap hit of $1,050,000 per season. Yeo called him a big part of the team because of his steady defensive play and willingness to stand up for teammates.
