The Minnesota Wild have 11 unrestricted free agents.

Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher and head coach Mike Yeo have a decision to make on all the free agents.

The Wild currently have 31 players under contract for next season; each team is allowed a maximum of 50.

With the 19 remaining contracts, at least one will be used on drafted players that have expiring rights this summer. Also, there is cap space to try and lure a big name free agent or two to Minnesota.

Here is unrestricted free agent left wing Stephane Veilleux.

Number – 19; Height – 6-1; Weight – 200; Hometown – Beauceville, Quebec; 2011-12 Salary – $525,000.

Statistics: 22 games played, two assists, minus-two rating and 15 penalty minutes (Minnesota Wild); one game played (New Jersey Devils); 40 games played, 11 goals, 11 assists, plus-three rating and 53 penalty minutes (Albany Devils).

Strength: He is a gritty, physical, energy forward. He has a constant motor and all-go attitude lifts his teammates. He excels in the defensive zone.

Weakness: He has little to no offensive upside. He is willing to mix it up, but lacks the size and strength to sustain it over the course of an entire season.

Outlook: He is a fan favorite in Minnesota, but is not a player that can take the Wild to the playoffs. There is a chance he will be re-signed, but there are several prospects with more upside that can do what he does. The Wild are better off filling the fourth line with young promising prospects.
