The Minnesota Wild have 14 restricted free agents.
Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher and head coach Mike Yeo have a decision to make on all the free agents.
The Wild currently have 31 players under contract for next season; each team is allowed a maximum of 50.
With the 19 remaining contracts, at least one will be used on drafted players that have expiring rights this summer. Also, there is cap space to try and lure a big name free agent or two to Minnesota.
Here is restricted free agent right wing Carson McMillan.
Number – 45; Height – 6-1; Weight – 200; Hometown – Brandon, Manitoba; 2011-12 Salary – $565,000. Qualifying Offer – $621,500.

Strengths: He is a tough, physical, good skating forward. He has good size, work ethic and forechecking ability. He is defensively responsibly and excels on the penalty kill unit. He has some scoring ability.
Weaknesses: He is not an elite scorer or naturally gifted offensive player. He will not score a ton of goals or record a lot of assists. He does not create his own scoring opportunities and needs to have a playmaking linemate.
Outlook: He could be a high-end fourth line player in his NHL career. The Wild do not have a lot of tough checking prospects in its system. He should receive a qualifying offer and have a chance to make the Wild’s roster next season.
