I received a few questions about the Minnesota Wild through Twitter, Facebook and email. I will answer those questions in this article.

What are the chances Zach Parise signs with the Wild? If so, who would be his linemates?

It is still too early to make a guess. Free Agency doesn’t start for another month. But if you really want to know, I think it is 50-50. He may or he may not. He will have options and don’t forget the Wild haven’t been to the playoffs in four years. It would not be surprising either way.

If the Wild can sign him, he would play left wing on the first line probably with Mikko Koivu and Dany Heatley.

With so many forwards turning pro in the next couple years, what is the Wild’s biggest need in the draft?

It may be cliche, but it is true. The Wild need to take the best player available.

The best case scenario is that the best player available is a tough, physical defenseman.

The Wild lack a physical presence at the backend. At the seventh pick you’re probably going not find a guy as talented or potentially as talented as Chris Pronger or Zdeno Chara, but that type of shutdown defender is what the Wild need.

There could be a defenseman or two available with the seventh pick, but the Wild will not force its selection.

What Houston Aeroshave the best chance to make the Wild’s roster next season?

Of the players that spent most of last season with the Aeros that have a chance to make the Wild’s roster are the grinder, fourth-line type of guys, Cody Almond and Carson McMillan. The others are defenseman Tyler Cuma and goaltender Matt Hackett.

Hackett is the biggest long shot. He needs to play every day.
