The Minnesota Wild were swept in home-and-home series with the Colorado Avalanche.

Just two days after getting shutout by Semyon Varlamov, the Wild were held off the scoreboard until the early portion of the third period in a 7-1 loss Tuesday at the Pepsi Center.

Devin Setoguchi broke a scoreless streak of 169 minutes and 44 seconds, which included back-to-back shutouts at the hands of the Detroit Red Wings on Friday and the Avalanche on Sunday.

The Avalanche (35-29-4) busted the game open with three goals in one minute and 56 seconds in the latter stages of the second period.

Wild goaltender Matt Hackett started the game and had 17 saves, before getting pulled after the second goal of that Avalanche barrage. Hackett, who was really good Sunday, gave up a bad rebound on the Avalanche first goal – just over three minutes into the game – and allowed a soft goal on a long shot from the point at the boards for the third score.

Josh Harding entered and stopped 15 shots.

The Wild (28-29-10) can blame injuries, but an 8-21-7 record since Dec. 13 is a lot more than just that.

Every aspect of the game is a problem of the Wild.

It can’t score.

It can’t shoot.

It can’t pass.

It can’t keep possession of the puck.

It can’t cover any one.

It can’t keep the puck out of the net.

It can’t win.

Did I miss anything?

It just doesn’t look like the team wants the puck.

Three Stars

No. 3 – Jamie McGinn. The Avalanche forward had a goal and an assist.

No. 2 – Steve Downie. The Avalanche forward recorded three assists.

No. 1 – Gabriel Landeskog. The Avalanche forward recorded two assists.
