Wild let two-goal lead slip away; lose in overtime
The Minnesota Wild are getting goals from its top line.
The Wild (2-2-1) have now scored 13 goals - 10 from the first line.
Parise and Koivu erased a one goal deficit and give the Wild a two-goal lead with just under 25 minutes remaining in the game.
A defensive lapse cut the lead to one by the end of the second period.
The Blues (5-1-0) tied the game and took the lead with six minutes and 13 seconds remaining in the game.
Heatley continued the top lines magic by batting a fluttering puck into the open net out of the air behind Brian Elliott. Heatley took a whack at, and hitting, the puck just after it got below the cross bar. A replay was of it was deemed "inconclusive," and the goal stood.
The Wild could have ran with the momentum, but a sloppy defensive effort by all involved led to an open Vladimir Sobotka in front with an open net. Sobotka did not get much on the shot, but it didn't matter as Ryan Suter was late to get his stick on him and Niklas Backstrom was out of position. Backstrom tracked Andy McDonald from the top of the circles to the bottom of the circle to his right, but found himself way too far from the crease and unable to keep the pass from reaching Sobotka.
