The Minnesota Wild announced it re-signed goaltender Josh Harding to a one-year contract Friday.
The 6-foot-1-inch, 199-pound Regina, Saskatchewan native missed all of last season after suffering a knee injury during the preseason.
He has a career record of 28-39-4 with a 2.66 goals against average, .915 save percentage and four shutouts in 83 games over parts of five NHL seasons.
He enters the 2011-12 season as the expected backup to starter Niklas Backstrom.
The Wild previously re-signed defenseman Drew Bagnall to a two-year contract and forward Jed Ortmeyer to a one-year deal. They are depth players that will spend most of next season with the Houston Aeros of the AHL.
