The Minnesota Wild announced it signed defenseman Mike Lundin to a one-year contract Saturday.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 191-pound Burnsville native played parts of the last four season with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 26-year-old ranked fourth on the Lightning in ice time per game (20:24) and Blocked shots (106). He participated in 69 regular season and 18 playoff games last season.

He has 33 points (four goals and 29 assists) in 224 career games from 2007-11. He played in the 2008 YoungStars Game during the All-Star break and for the United States in the 2010 World Championship.

He was a finalist for the 2003 Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award with Apple Valley High School.

After high school, he played four seasons for the University of Maine and collected 69 points (13 goals and 56 assists) in 169 games and was named to the 2007 Hockey East Second All-Star Team.
